HVAC Service Brand Identity & Vehicle Branding

Florida Cool is a home air conditioning company, and its branding is read mostly by people driving past at speed. The identity was built for legibility first and personality second, in that order.

01

Built to be read fast

Every decision came out of the same constraint. The name is sized to hold at distance, the service line sits in a red band directly beneath it so a stranger learns what the company does without slowing down, and the phone number is set like a headline instead of a footnote. Layouts that look balanced sitting still tend to fail in motion, so I designed to the harder condition.

The mascot is the counterweight. He is a broad shouldered character in red, white and blue, arms folded, cap tilted, drawn with outlines heavy enough to survive being reduced. Air conditioning is a trust purchase made by someone deciding whether to let a stranger into the house, and a friendly, larger than life figure settles that better than a clean corporate wordmark ever does.

02

One impression, driveway to doorstep

Color is doing structural work here rather than decoration. Navy holds the body of the wrap and gives white type its contrast, while red arrives as a diagonal sweep along the lower panel and inside the small badges. That angle keeps the eye traveling forward along the vehicle instead of stalling in the middle of it, which matters when the whole read lasts a couple of seconds.

The same character goes onto the uniform shirt and the cap at a fraction of the size, and that is where the heavy outline earns its keep. The brand should not reset when the technician steps out of the van and walks up the drive. By the time he reaches the door the homeowner has seen him twice, once at scale and once on a chest patch, and the second sighting is the one that does the reassuring.
